Dr. Brandeis is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, mobile health and IT consultant, and Founder of the Integrative Medicine resource Medfinds. He brings his passion for health and wellness to Care Practice where he offers evidence based integrative and holistic medicine therapies with a Functional Medicine philosophy.

Dr. Brandeis earned his doctoral degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA and holds a B.S. in nutrition. He completed his residency at the Northwestern Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine in Bellingham, WA, has trained at the True North Health clinical fasting and Integrative Medicine detox center in Santa Rosa, CA and has completed the ILADS physician training program in chronic Lyme disease.

His approach to health care uses the most effective and least invasive therapies necessary to treat the root cause of illness, remove obstacles to recovery, and facilitate the body’s innate ability to heal itself. He has extensive experience in the treatment of acute and chronic illness with pharmaceuticals, vitamin and mineral supplements, herbal and plant medicines, nutritional counseling using the GAPS diet, weight loss, meditation, yoga, intravenous (IV) nutrients, and physical medicines such as hydrotherapy, craniosacral therapy and spinal manipulation. He specializes in investigating chronic diseases and medical problems that other doctors have given up on.

Dr. Brandeis founded Medfinds in 2005 when he noticed a growing need for a legitimate integrative medicine resource. Medfinds quickly became the largest online referral source for alternative health care providers.

As a health care consultant, Dr. Brandeis helps tech companies reach their goals by working on design problems from both an artistic and medical perspective. In addition to founding a web company, Dr. Brandeis studied as an artist with concentrations in both oil painting and percussion at Mason Gross University. It is unusual for a doctor to have a skill set that includes managerial skills, a strong understanding of design and flow, coordination of patient care and public speaking. Dr. Brandeis is a consultant and spokesperson for various Health IT products including the iHealth Blood Pressure Cuff and JiffPad. Here is a link to a New York Times article where he discusses the value of iHealth. He’s currently working on a point-of-care app that will allow doctors to share clinical insights in real time.

When he’s not at work, Dr. Brandeis enjoys a daily practice of yoga and Zen meditation, riding his Mission Bicycles bike around town, and playing frisbee with his dog Leya. He is often lecturing on various topics ranging from gut health to web design. Follow the Care Practice blog for updates on his speaking schedule.
