Chronic Lyme disease is a debilitating infection caused by the bacterial spirochete Borellia Borgdorferii. These bacteria can evade the immune system, are difficult to test for and treat, and can invade multiple body systems including the gut, nervous system and cardiovascular system.
The most common symptoms of chronic lyme disease include fatigue, joint pain, night sweats, brain fog, and muscle weakness. However, its important to remember that chronic lyme disease can produce a range of symptoms and the diagnosis is based on a combination of symptom picture, blood tests, and other factors.
The body has a remarkable ability to heal itself, but if there is an underlying chronic infection, progress toward health can be difficult and stunted. At Care Practice, we work closely with our patients to diagnose and treat Lyme disease as well as other tick borne illness.
To accomplish this, we work with a variety of Lyme specialty laboratories and use combination pharmaceutical and integrative therapeutics.
Your first visit with Dr. Brandeis will include a thorough history and review of your symptoms, review of any previous laboratory work, and focus on building a plan that will work for you.
